Short Description:
DIBROM
® is an organophosphate
insecticide for use undiluted or diluted in diesel oil to be
applied for the control of adult mosquitoes, houseflies, gnats,
midges, adult stable flies and certain other nuisance insects in
residential areas, municipalities, woodlands, livestock pastures,
feed lots, and pastures including dairy cattle.
Active Ingredient:
Naled
Mode of Action:
DIBROM (active naled) is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor
which is a chemical that inhibits the cholinesterase enzyme from
breaking down acetylcholine. This allows over stimulation of the
insect's nervous system causing muscle twitching, convulsions,
paralysis, and eventually death.
Where/When to use:
DIBROM should be applied to control insects in residential
areas, municipalities, tidal marshes, swamps, woodlands, agricultural
areas (when applied in wide-area public pest control programs
sponsored by governmental entities), livestock pastures, feed lots
and pastures including dairy cattle. Applications should be made when
insects are active.
Formulations/Packaging:
Features/Benefits:
- DIBROM is a very heavy material (14 lbs per gallon) which
makes it unmatched when it comes to penetrating dense foliage
and/or heavy canopies.
- DIBROM is considered the standard for mosquito and other
insect control by air.
- The unique chemistry and weight allowing for accurate spray
droplet deposition gives this product a great advantage over other
adulticides used aerially.
